Baby Planning Workshop

It's a good idea to make a birth plan - a written plan of how your would like to give birth as by doing so you will be making a conscious choice before birth about how you want your labour to be managed, rather than being asked to make decision while you are in the middle of trying to coping with contractions!

We facilitate a 2 hour birth planning workshop for couples, or a one hour one-to-one consultation. Whether you would like a natural birth or an elective c-section, there are a range of options open to you to consider. Some of the different choices which we might look at are:

* Induction
* Pain relief/epidural
* Spontaneous rupture of membranes
* Episiotomy
* Delivery of the placenta
* Cutting of the cord
* Eating and drinking in labour
* Foetal monitoring
* Skin to skin contact
* Breastfeeding after birth
* Positioning/mobility in labour
* Relaxation techniques, music, aromatherapy, massage
* What if intervention is needed
* What if your tear during delivery

At Bump, Birth and Beyond we seek to empower you. With our support to plan for your birth, we hope to be giving you the confidence and preparation to have a positive labour experience. Obviously no guarantees can be made that labour will go to plan, and no one knows how they will cope with labour until it is happening. If you feel you would like continuous support throughout the whole journey, you may want to book one of our Birth Doulas.

Your workshop fee also includes:

* A Bump, Birth & Beyond goodie pack
* Workshop support materials
* Refreshments
* Ongoing support from Bump, Birth & Beyond- via email or telephone after your session.

We are flexible about when you attend, but would suggest it is between 24 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. A birth plan completed through consultation with us should be discussed with your midwife (or consultant) between 32 - 36 weeks of pregnancy. This is to ensure everyone has advanced knowledge of your wishes and any difficulties can be discussed and navigated in advance.

This workshop costs £30 per couple and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and your place will only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment.

Workshops run from 7.15pm to 9.15pm

Each booking is for 1 couple
